Arts and Entertainment: CS Porter Portamentos

on this week’s arts and education we are taking you to CS Porter middle school where the kids there are gearing up for one special and big performance [Music] the fantastic sound you are listening to come courtesy of the C s Porter portamento is an all-boys flyer made up with some of the best singers at CS Porter to try out choir audition only we had about 90 kids audition between our two advanced choirs we took the top 12 from men’s choir and then we took about 28 in the other advanced choir so it’s pretty slim pickins as far as who we choose but we have two great ensembles from it singing in the Protomen toes is a big commitment for these kids one of the commitments being early morning practices before school even starts however they wouldn’t have it any other way once I started choir I never thought it’d be so fun and to get the chance to be taught by mr. white men it was really really fun I enjoyed singing a lot because like you can express like all of your emotions or without like talking about it kinda I know how to really put it it’s just kind of being able to express yourself without everyone judging you there are two big events that the choirs at CS Porter will participate in this year one of them is when they travel to Seattle to play in the Heritage Festival and the second one coming on November 26 when they will sing the national anthem for the Globetrotters so the Globetrotters whenever they go to a city they start looking for choirs around town they saw us on YouTube we’re pretty impressed with what we had on our YouTube channel and then contacted me and said we’d love for you guys to sing the national anthem is that something you’d be interested in obviously that was something we reached in and so we’ve had a great conversation with the folks in charge there and I’m just getting geared up for and really excited about it
